"Colin will shortly start rehearsals for OUR PRIVATE LIFE at the Royal Court Theatre."

Why couldn't he have done theatre when I was in London? More importantly, why is London on the other side of the world? BE MORE SOUTHERLY, ENGLAND.

Please, fellow Merlin fans who go to this, have a wonderful time and report everything you possibly can about it, so that I may live vicariously through you. And if he gets naked on stage again, please take sneaky pictures (although I think that's unlikely)

Speaking of Colin, here's my year in fandom.

Your main fandom of the year?
Merlin.

Your favourite film watched this year?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1. Sad to say, it is the ONLY film I watched this year (in a cinema, anyway)

Your favourite book read this year?
I'll probably have to go with All Clear by Connie Willis. I had big problems with it and thought it was quite flawed, but I'd been waiting for it for so long that it was very satisfying to read it.

Your favourite album or song to listen to this year?
Nothing in particular apart from the top rated list on my ipod touch. I am incredibly slow to listen to new music anyway.

Your favourite TV shows of the year?
Merlin. Sherlock. Doctor Who.

Your favorite LJ community of the year?
[livejournal.com profile] bbc_merlin_news and [livejournal.com profile] a_shot_of_colin

Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
Sherlock, I think.

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Not getting to actually meet Colin and Bradley at the autograph session at the BFI screening. I admit to being a teeny bit peeved that some of the people who did get autographs had already met the boys multiple times, but I know it's all the luck of the draw and all that - and [livejournal.com profile] rodneyscat and [livejournal.com profile] loreley_se put us in front of them in line, which I am so grateful for even though we didn't get there in the end. The thought was really appreciated there.

Your TV boyfriend of the year?
Merlin. Duh :)

Your TV girlfriend of the year?
I don't know that I had one this year, so I'm going back to Donna Noble.

Your biggest squee moment of the year?
Being at the BFI screening of the Merlin season opener in London in September. That was so, so special to me. I got to meet [livejournal.com profile] rodneyscat and [livejournal.com profile] loreley_se in person, which was wonderful because they have both been LJ-friends in other fandoms and I've known them online for years. I got to see the season opener on the big screen with lots of other fans. I got to see Colin Morgan and Bradley James in the extremely delectable flesh, and be in the same room with them, and hear them answering questions in person. I was witness to [personal profile] true_statement's quasi-religious experience upon seeing Colin in person :) It was wonderful.

The most missed of your old fandoms?
LOTR. I just don't feel the same about it. But like the X-Files fandom 15 years ago, it's brought me some of the most enduring friendships of my life, so I will have a soft spot for it forever.

The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
I don't think there is such a thing for me. I am very much a fandom serial monogamist and there is only One True Fandom for me at any given time, although the peripheral and eternal ones like Doctor Who still linger.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
Well, Colin Morgan is in two movies; I'm sure they will make their day to DVD eventually. If I'm really lucky they will make their way to independent cinemas or film festivals here in Australia. And then, of course, there will be more Merlin. Yayes!
