Mixed emotions

vanessaramaOn the one hand, I am excited because of all the utter Merlin cast gorgeousness coming out of the Kapow! con today.
On the other hand, I am a bit grumpy because I have to fly to Sydney tonight (on a Sunday! How stupid was I when I organised that?) to give a workshop tomorrow.
And on the third hand, I am accomplished because knitting progressed well. This weekend was all about HATS.
I freaking LOVE this hat. It is so cuddly warm when I put it on - the extra space made by the slouchiness seems to capture and trap heat. The pattern is a freebie, Wurm (on Ravelry) (or direct PDF) and it's quick and easy - apart from checking whether I should be knitting or purling, I barely had to pay attention at all. The yarn is Sanguine Gryphon "Bugga Sock" in the colourway called "Archy and Mehitabel".
This is the Grace Lace Beret in 'Silky Merino', a silk/wool blend from Malabrigo. Colourway is Machu Pichu. I wish you could see how this yarn glows but it's difficult to capture.
Here's the silky glow as best as I can manage!
