I actually remember a couple of these. My parents were big magazine readers and never chucked anything out, so we had huge stashes of 1960s and 70s Family Circles and Reader's Digests and so forth - UK and US mags as well as Australian - which I worked my way though as a kid. I don't remember any smoking ones though, except the old Virginia Slims 'You've come a long way, baby' ads which don't feature here.
I'm sure these wouldn't be made today, but then advertising has just become more clever about its sexism/racism/pushing feelings of sheer inadequacy...
